Kilmaley go marching on

Kilmaley 3-22  Bodyke 0-8

KILMALEY continued their march towards promotion with their fifth win from five starts in Division 2B when they proved too strong for Bodyke on Saturday evening.
From an early stage, it was clear that Kilmaley, without the services of captain Alan Markham, were the stronger side and they quickly took control in most departments.
The goals came from Niall McGuane (2) and Brian McMahon and the points were safely in Kilmaley’s bag long before the final whistle sounded.
With five wins from five, Kilmaley are well on their way to winning the group and promotion, which would also put them into the semi-final of the competition.

Éire Óg 1-11  Ennistymon 0-12

WHEN Ennistymon led by seven points at half-time in this tie on Saturday, a surprise looked to be on the cards. However, with the advantage of the wind in the second half and with Barry Nugent in good form at full-forward, they fought back to take the points.
They had to rely on a powerful save from Kevin Brennan in the final minute to keep them in front.
Barry Nugent was the game’s top scorer with 1-5 to his credit while Cathal Malone hit 0-7 for the North Clare side. Kevin Moynihan (Éire Óg) and Tommy Hogan (Ennistymon) both scored a brace of points on the day.

Ruan 0-16  Killanena 1-7

RUAN maintained their unbeaten run in Division 2A when they turned the tables on Killanena who had beaten them in the intermediate championship final last year.
The winners, playing with the aid of the wind, started well and were 0-11 to 0-3 in front at half-time.
Killanena fought back after the break with a goal from Pádraig Brady. However, Ruan moved Aidan Lynch to centre-forward and later to midfield and he managed some great scores into the wind, which killed off the Killanena challenge.
