Kilkishen wore down a determined Scariff/Ogonnelloe side on Sunday to take the points in this first senior league match of the season. Both sides battled hard and the outcome was in doubt until minutes from the end, when a brace of scores from Kilkishen saw them edge ahead to take the points.

Sixmilebridge came out convincing winners over Corofin in the opening round of the senior league. It was Corofin’s first time competing in the senior grade and both sides were missing many of their key players due to injury.
The ’Bridge got off to a bright start with full-forward Áine McNamara scoring a point in the opening seconds. Things began to excel from there with corner forward Naomi Carroll adding to 2-5 to her tally.

Kilmaley had a comprehensive win over Clooney on Sunday, ensuring they got their defence of the senior league off to a bright start. Kilmaley were in control from the start and despite Clooney’s best efforts, they were unable to stop the Kilmaley machine.

Wolfe Tones 0-1

Newmarket were dominant throughout the field but Wolfe Tones fought hard and made life difficult, especially for the Newmarket forwards, who were guilty of squandering many scoring chances, especially in the first half. Wolfe Tones’ only score of the game came just on the stroke of half-time from Rachel O’Brien. Newmarket took control of the game in the second half and ran out winners.
