Gaels/Kilmihil 4-6
Kilrush 1-14

AN injury-time goal from Chris O’Connor secured a dramatic win for Shannon Gaels/Kilmihil over Kilrush in Monday’s U-16B semi-final in Doonbeg.
Played in perfect conditions, both teams played some excellent attacking football. Kilrush led by a point at half-time and were two points up deep into second-half injury time.
The game had been held up for a few minutes when Kilrush forward David Foran sustained an injury, which forced him off.
Although the game was almost over at that point Foran, who was his side’s most dangerous forward, was a huge loss to his team.
Chris O’Connor’s winning goal was his second of the game, while Cian Moloney also scored two goals.  Corner-forward Shane O’Connor played a role in creating all four goals. He was fouled for the penalty and laid on the other three.
Kilrush full-forward John O’Brien scored his side’s goal, while David Foran, Johnny Williams, Mikey Dunne and Martin O’Brien were among their point scorers.
Kilrush centre-back Colm Pyne excelled and was a huge threat when attacking and setting up play. He was a second-half sub for the Clare minors in their defeat to Kerry in Tralee on Saturday.
Gaels/Kilmihil goalkeeper Fionn Sebbraro played a key role in his side’s win. He was very solid under balls that dropped into the square and made one crucial second half save.
