Hurling honours for Doora-Barefield

The U-11 hurling and U-12 girls Gaelic football competitions were decided at the weekend.

Gurteen was the venue for the U-11 hurling on Sunday and the event was co-ordinated by Pat Leamy from Quin-Clooney.
There were some very close games in what was a very high standard competition. Doora-Barefield emerged as the winners from Sixmilebridge-Kilmurry with Ennis St John’s winning the bronze medals ahead of Clarecastle-Ballyea. Doora-Barefield will represent Clare in the Munster competition on July 14 at UL.
The members of the winning panel are: Darragh O’Callaghan, Fionn Kelleher, James Shaw, Tony Butler, Shane O’Halloran, Shay Kenny, Darragh Whelan, David McNicholas, Archie Connolly, Gary Mulligan, Ciaran O’Halloran, Cian Moloney, Kevin Nugent, Andrew Knox, Padraig Geraghty, Sam Cotter, Luke Enright, Niall O’Regan, Matthew Whelan and Conal O’Regan.
Members of the Sixmilebridge-Kilmurry team are: Alex Frost, Storm Devanney, Shane Whyte, Adam Fitzpatrick, Adam O’Sullivan, Evan Murphy, Dylan Downes, Sean Og Murnane, Luke Keogh, Mark Cleary, Darragh Twomey, Luke O’Halloran, Aidan Johnson, Conor Morey, Adam Breen, Sean McNamara, Ben Dalton McSharry, David Kennedy, Darren Quinn and Matthew Hurley.
Ennis St John’s bronze medal winners were: Eoin Guilfoyle, Michael Foley, Eoghan Hahessy, Ronan O’Connell, Mark Cleary, Dara Curran, John Brennan, Sean O’Brien, Kevin Moloney, Jake Fletcher, Niall O’Donoghue, Luke Kelly, Jarlath Collins, Eoin Walsh, Dylan White, David O’Sullivan, Brian Crowley-Hayes, Jack Joyce, Liam Hutton and Shane Meehan.
Fourth place Clarecastle-Ballyea included: Eoghan Gavin, Diarmuid O’Neill, Stephen Casey, Kevin Clohessy, Conor McMahon, Patrick Sweeney, Gareth Guinnane, Conor Halpin, Brandon Healy, Evan Dolan, John Cullinan, Cian Broderick, Rory O’Connell and Barry Morrissey.

Lissycasey was the venue for the girls gaelic football on Friday evening when Kieran Harvey from Carrigaholt-Cross was the co-ordinator
Doora-Barefield also captured the gold medals here and the members of their team were: Niamh O’Keeffe, Muireann Collins, Irene Neylon, Aoibhinn O’Loughlin, Treasa McAuliffe, Laura McDonnell, Saidbh Kelleher, Aisling Reidy, Chloe Towey, Amy Lenihan, Anna Lynch, Aisling Hannon, Shauna Murphy, Róisín Dixon, Maebh O’Connor, Gail Norton, Mia Norton, Saoirse O’Donoghue and Sally Brogan, Emily Fanning.
Miltown won the silver medals and their squad included: Grainne Lynch, Grainne McMahon, Ciara Malone, Katie Malone, Lorraine Malone, Grainne Meade, Alison O’Loughlin, Saoirse Reidy, Lucy Meade, Elena Anartania, Aoife Talty, Áine Talty, Aisling Sexton, Aileen Byrne, Lucy Flanagan, Lucy Haran, Ciara Hayes, Aoife Hehir, Emma Hickey, Anna Lineen and Ellen Flanagan.
Clarecastle-Ballyea won the bronze medals and their squad members are: Ciara O’Brien, Emily Barry, Aileen McInerney, Hazel Collins, Emma O’Brien, Orla Cummins, Emma O’Donoghue, Tegan McInerney, Rachel Hartigan, Aoibhinn Donnelly, Kelsey Farmer, Cathy Casey, Cliodhna Spriggs, Sophie Morrissey, Abbie Moloney, Katie Holland.
Ballynacally-Lissycasey were in fourth place and their squad included: Michelle Collins, Ava Cotter, Áine Garry, Sorcha Donnellan, Bernadette Kelly, Holly Garry, Molly McCarthy, Savina Browne, Emma Hill, Eimear Stephens, Yvonne Collins, Tara O’Malley, Grace O’Sullivan, Andrea Sheehan, Shauna Hayes, Leanna Conway, Michelle Carrig, Paula Cusack, Róisín Ni Cealaigh.
The outdoor soccer for boys U-12, girls U-12 and girls U-15 will start next Monday.
In the boys U-12 on Monday, Newmarket will play Ennistymon-Lahinch-Liscannor at 6pm while Tulla will play Sixmilebridge at the same time.
In the semi-finals on Tuesday, Ennis St John’s play Kilrush at 7.15pm with the winners of Monday’s matches meeting at the same time.
The play-off for third and fourth places and the final will take place on Thursday evening, May 24.
In the girls U-12 the final will be on Friday, May 25, between Ennis St John’s and Sixmilebridge.
On the same evening Newmarket play Ennis St John’s in an U-15 girls semi-final with the winners playing.

Camogie

In the camogie competition Newmarket will play Broadford in a preliminary round with Newmarket having home venue.
In the quarter-finals Kilkishen play Clarecastle, Sixmilebridge play Inch-Connolly-Kilmaley and the winners meet in the semi-final.
Ennis St John’s will play Doora-Barefield and Tulla will play Newmarket or Broadford and the winners of these two quarter-finals will meet in the second semi-final.
