Homeless HELPed by article

ARISING from last week’s Clare Champion front-page story regarding the plight of the homeless in Ennis, offers of accommodation, cash and good wishes have come pouring into Josephine O’Brien of homeless organisation HELP.
An offer of a mobile home to house at least four of the homeless people, in addition to offers of two tents and a single donation of €1,000 was made to the organisation.
Ms O’Brien said she received up to 15 calls from people offering support.
“We had people who rang agencies such as St Vincent de Paul and Focus Ireland, we had one lady who donated €1,000 to help the homeless, another man donated two tents and people have gone out on the soup run with us,” she explained.
The HELP soup run and the conditions that the homeless are living in will be highlighted next Wednesday night on the RTÉ One’s iWitness programme following the late news.
HELP will hold a Christmas dinner bucket collection on December 6 in Ennis and if people want to help out in any way, they can contact Josephine on 085 1232863.
