HERMITAGE continued their bright start to the premier season when they proved strong for Rock Rovers at the Fairgreen on Sunday morning.
A second successive 2-1 victory leaves them with maximum points from their opening two ties as they had beaten Avenue United by a similar margin on the previous Wednesday.
On Sunday, Ger Dullaghan scored from a free kick to give his side a 1-0 interval lead. Rock Rovers levelled midway through the second half through Daryl Eade who converted from the penalty spot before substitute Barry McNamara hit the winner.
On the previous Wednesday, Hermitage were 2-1 winners over Avenue United in a tie which attracted a very big attendance to the Fairgreen. Scott Hennessy and Robbie Downes scored for the Tage in this one while Adrian McDonagh was the Avenue scorer.

AVENUE bounced back to winning ways after their mid-week loss to Hermitage when they accounted for Rineanna Rovers on Sunday.
Rineanna took the lead when Shane Meehan scored in the first half but two second-half strikes from Con Collins and Adrian McDonagh ensured that the points went to the Ennis club.
They should have scored in the first half but Pa Wilson failed to find the target from the penalty spot, his effort being stopped by Jason Casey
Rineanna piled on the pressure in the closing stages in search of an equaliser but the winner’s defence held firm.

NEWMARKET got off to a great start in this tie when Martin Mulqueen’s effort ended up in the net after just five minutes. There was an element of luck about the score and this was also the case for Bunratty’s equaliser when Colm Treacy’s effort somehow beat Trevor O’Donnell in the Newmarket goal to leave the score at 1-1 at half-time.
Early in the second half, Newmarket went back in front through Seamus Considine but again Bunratty hit back and Shane O’Connor volleyed home the equaliser.
Newmarket went back in front when Michael Crosby scored following a Darren Cullinan free.

NEWLY promoted Tulla United A scored their first win in the Premier League when they proved too strong for Bridge United A at the Cragg on Sunday.
Niall Whelan put them in front in the first half and they doubled their lead through Gearóid O’Doherty. Adrian White was scorer for the losers.
