Hermitage A hatch half a dozen goals

The victory certainly gives the Ennis outfit the proverbial shot in the arm and if they can build on this result, their Premiership survival won’t be an issue. The same cannot be said though of Rhine Rovers and Burren United as both these sides’ poor form sees them propping up the table with just one point each secured to date.

Their losses on Sunday to Avenue United and Ennis Town Rock respectively did very little to help their causes and unless there is a marked improvement in their performances, relegation could be an issue at the season’s end. Lifford had a well-deserved 3-0 win at Cassidy Park over visitors Tulla United. The feature here was a spectacular goal in the 52nd minute from a 25 yard shot from the home side’s Liam Keane for his side’s third goal.

The final game in the top division saw defending champions Newmarket Celtic take over top spot in the Division with a 3 – 1 home win against Connolly Celtic.
