Gospel choir movie event

THE Ennis Gospel Choir’s Gospel at the Movies production is taking place in Glór on January 22-23.
The event will feature gospel music inspired from movies such as Sister Act, The Preacher’s Wife, The Bodyguard and Cry Freedom.
“This is a really fun show and we are hoping to give people a complete movie experience, including the popcorn, as well as a live performance,” said choir director Fiona Walsh.
“Our first production, A Gospel Experience, was received really well, selling out each time and it was viewed by over 2,000 people.
“We are working really hard to raise our performance standard further and are excited to show everyone how we have developed since our last big shows,” she added.
Aside from the show, the choir are busy performing at weddings, community services and fundraisers. Their next monthly service will be at St Joseph’s Church at 6.30pm on December 20.
The next opening for new members will be in February and the choir welcomes all, regardless of background or abilities.
