Getting ready for new season


THE first Clare and District Soccer League delegate meeting of the season will take place next Tuesday at 9pm in the West County Hotel. All CDSL registration forms, MFA forms and FAI forms must be returned by this meeting.

This season, 15 teams entered into the third division of the league. The committee has to decided to split the third division into two, with eight teams in the third division and seven teams in the fourth, after all teams have played one another once.
Points from the first series of games will be carried into the second series of games. As Hermitage will have two teams in the division, they will play one another in the first game of the season.
Treaty Celtic, Coole FC and West Clare United are new clubs in the Clare League, while Hermitage will have a C team for the 2010/11 season.
The draws have been made for the League Cup for the 2010/11 season:
First division
Section A:
Connolly Celtic, Corofin Harps A, Turnpike Rovers, Sporting Ennistymon, Burren United.
Section B: Cratloe Forest, Shannon Olympic A, Bridge United B, Avenue United B, Mountshannon Celtic.
The top team in each group qualifies for the final. If teams finish level on points. goal difference will be used to decide group winners.
Second division
Section A:
Kilmaley Fern Celtic, Ruan United, Kilrush Rangers, Moher Celtic A, Kildysart Celtic.
Section B: Kilkishen Celtic, Rhine Rovers, Newmarket Celtic B, Inch Crusaders Manus Celtic A.
The top team in each group qualifies for the final. If teams finish level on points, goal difference will be used to decide group winners.
Third division
Section A: Treaty Celtic, Hermitage B, Manus Celtic B.
Section B: Shannon Olympic B, Bunratty B, Rineanna Rovers B, Bridge Celtic B.
Section C: St Pat’s, West Clare United, Moher Celtic B.
Section D: Corofin Harps B, Coole FC, Tulla United B, Hermitage C.
The top team in each group qualifies for the semi-final. If teams finish level on points, goal difference will be used to decide the group winners. Semi-final pairings: winners A V winners C and winners B V winners D.
Youths Summer Cup: Avenue United, Tulla United, Bridge United, Newmarket Celtic.
The top two teams qualify for the final.
