Getting all dolled up for festival duck race

Fashion and glamour are two of the most important ingredients of any race day, and this weekend’s Ennis Street Festival Duck Race will be no different.

Ladies are being urged to step out in style and take part in the Queens Hotel and Sinéad Madden Millinery Best Dressed Ladies’ competition on the day of the race this Sunday.
According to Sinead, “This is our first year hosting this competition and we’re delighted to be involved with the race. There is no formal entry procedure to the competition. The judges will simply wander through the crowds and entrants are invited by the Queens Hotel to a drinks reception at the Café Bar.”
Ladies interested in taking part in this year’s Best Dressed Lady Competition are asked to arrive at the start of the duck race at 2pm and make their way down to the finish at Club Bridge where entrants will be invited to a glass of wine and prize giving ceremony in the Cafe Bar.
The finalists will be announced at approximately 3.30pm after the duck race with prizes from Sinéad Madden Millinery and the Art of Floral Design presented in the Café Bar at approximately 4pm.
Sinéad is a milliner based in Ennis and entrants to the competition will have the chance to win one of her one-off creations for the event.
The main judge for the day is Tess Purcell from Style N Mind style coaching service. Tess, a stylist, fashion event organiser and writer, has a column with The ’Champion and will be looking  for stylish ladies that stand out in the crowd.
