A man who had been arrested following a shooting incident in Tulla on Wednesday morning has been released and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
A 39-year-old man remains in hospital, as gardaí are investigate the circumstances in which a legally held double-barrel shotgun was discharged into his leg in a private house in Tulla.
It is understood that the incident took place at approximately 2am, when gardaí and emergency services were called to the house.
An injured man was removed from the house by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick (UHL).
Gardaí confirmed that the two men were in the house at the time and had been socialising when the legally held firearm was discharged, wounding the 39-year-old.
