Sive by John B Keane, was a huge success, pulling in full houses for several nights.
The group then set about the task of upgrading the community hall. New chairs were bought, as were curtains, materials for the stage sets and a lighting and sound system.
Since then, the group have gone from strength to strength. They have been nominated for and won some of the top categories in the Doonbeg Drama Festival, including best producer, most entertaining play, best actor and best set.
Recently, more work has been undertaken by the group to upgrade and improve the Kildysart Community Centre, including a new roof, suspended ceiling, new doors and windows and a dedicated crow’s nest for the sound and lighting system.
Last year, Kildysart Drama Group also opted for a comedy. The group produced Niall Moore’s Adrift, which they staged in the local community centre and at the Doonbeg Drama Festival.
