For the Birds at New York Fringe

CLARE actor and writer, Siobhán Donnellan, has co-written a show with American playwright entitled For the Birds.
The play has been selected as part of this year’s New York International Fringe Festival and will be staged there in August in the prestigious Studio at Cherry Lane Theatre in Greenwich Village.
Siobhán said that For the Birds is a dark but touching drama that explores family relationships and the connections that really bind people together. Siobhán, who also won the Outstanding Actor Award at Fringe (NYC 2007) and John O’Dowd (brother of Irish actor Chris O’Dowd), are featured in the play.
The play is produced by Blue Wren Collective, which aims to nurture and develop an artistic community on an international scale by enlisting actors, designers, writers, and artists from all parts of the world.
“By supporting global collaborations we hope that in content and practice we will create imaginative theatre and foster innovative collaborations,” Siobhán explained.
The play will run from August 13 to 29 at the New York Fringe Festival. For more information, see www.FringeNYC.org.
