The Clare Arts Office is currently in the process of developing the 2010 – 2014 Clare Arts Development Plan and will be holding a series of focus group meetings over the coming weeks to discuss issues and ideas the public and artists have.
The focus groups will be limited to one-hour meetings, with a maximum of two hours in the case of visual and traditional arts and will take place in the Red Room, Glór.
All are welcome to attend, but places are limited so those interested in participating are asked to contact the arts office on 65 6899091 or visit www.clarelibrary.ie/arts.htm.
On Monday, two sessions will be held; a visual arts focus group will meet at 11am, while a traditional arts session will be held at 2pm.
On the following Monday, there will be two sessions, arts in health at 11am and dance at 2pm. There is a lot of demand for specific sessions but if there is no demand for a session, it may be cancelled.
This is an opportunity for the public to feed ideas into what Clare County Council can do to support the arts in the coming years with the limited financial and staff resources that are available to the arts office.
Anyone who is unable to attend but would like to make comments or suggestions can do so by sending them by email arts@clarelibrary.ie.
