Fixing your fashion faux pas

AFTER noticing a lack of solutions to Ireland’s fashion problems, two savvy North Clare entrepreneurs decided to take matters into their own hands.
Dee and Wendy Fitzgerald from Kilnaboy this week launched their new online “one-stop shop” SecretFashionFixes.ie, which stocks a vast selection of “ladies fashion emergency products”.
The start-up is an online retail store selling innovative and quirky problem-solving fashion emergency products for ladies. Its products vary from hem tape to blouse buttons and nippies to arch tags.
“We have always had a huge interest in fashion and also had a huge interest in online shopping. I do everything from my grocery shopping to my Christmas shopping to my birthday shopping online,” explained Dee.
“Aside from that, the idea came from when I was in Nashville in America about three years ago. When I was there, I visited a shop which had a section on products for solving fashion emergencies. I remember thinking these products were amazing. I had never seen these sorts of accessories and definitely not so many of them in the one place. I started to research more and more of these types of products. It was phenomenal the type of solutions and inventions that are out there for the mishaps that can happen to any lady. That is where the idea started.
“I started to think wouldn’t it be wonderful if there was one location where you could order these products. That is why we set up SecretFashionFixes.ie. There has never been anything like it in Ireland and there is no one-stop shop for this type of thing,” she added.
Women across the county will relate to or have experienced a fashion faux pas at some stage. Now sisters-in-law Dee and Wendy are helping people to address these wardrobe malfunctions, targeting problems like pulling and tugging at a strapless dress or top that just won’t stay up, deodorant marks on clothes, jeans that are too long to wear with flat shoes or gape when you sit down, mascara smudges when you’ve just finished applying make-up or a bulky belt buckle ruining a new slim fitting top.
“We are very excited about the launch of our Secret Fashion Fixes website. We have worked extremely hard to discover the best fashion fixes on the market today. Most of the problem-solving fashion emergency products and accessories on our website are sourced globally and have never been available to buy in Ireland prior to this, so they are new to the Irish market.
“There has also never been a dedicated online one-stop shop for this type of product range in Ireland so SecretFashionFixes.ie will be the first, providing shoppers with one location where they can browse and purchase innovative and quirky fashion fixes, shoe, bra and clothing accessories and much more,” commented Dee.
“Each product listed on SecretFashionFixes.ie has been carefully selected with the greatest of care and we have personally tried and tested all of the products and truly believe that they were invented by geniuses.
“All our products and accessories are competitively priced and many of them can be used to rejuvenate key wardrobe items and accessorise items such as dresses, jeans and shoes,” she concluded.
l As a special introductory offer, Secret Fashion Fixes is offering Clare Champion readers 10% off all online purchases, when they enter the promo code: CCHAMPION when buying from www.secretfashionfixes.ie. This offer is valid until October 31, 2012.
