Inagh-Kilnamona 2-8
Newmaret-on-Fergus 2-4

INAGH-Kilnamona won the U-16A league final last Wednesday evening in Fr McNamara Camogie Park against Newmarket-on-Fergus.
Newmarket were first on the scoresheet with a point in the opening minute but, aided with a strong breeze, Inagh-Kilnamona stamped their dominance on the game in the opening half.

After a number of missed opportunities, Ciara Fitzgerald got the opening goal of the game in the sixth minute. Newmarket-on-Fergus responded with two further points but were kept scoreless for the remainder of the first period as Inagh Kilnamona scored the next five points without reply. A goal from Amy Keating and a point from Andrea O’Keeffe had Inagh Kilnamona heading into half-time with a lead of 2-6 to 0-3.

However, the second half was a much closer affair and had some wonderful passages of play, with both teams fighting hard to get the upper hand. Now with the aid of breeze, Newmarket-on-Fergus began to apply the pressure on the Inagh-Kilnamona half and full-back lines, resulting in a goal with five minutes played. They added another goal three minutes later and it was all to play for.
Inagh-Kilnamona dug deep and with substitutes Chloe McNamara and Laoise Ryan entering the game, added two more points in the second half to ensure they ran out winners.
