GLÓR’S First Friday series presents a double bill this month with performances by Seamus Begley and Tim Edey, along with Damien O’Kane.

The First Friday performance will take place at the Ennis venue this Friday at 8pm. Accordion player and singer, Seamus Begley, is one of the most popular Irish traditional musicians, coming as he does from one of the most musically acclaimed Irish families.
The quintessential Irish musician, Seamus is an eager storyteller known for his sharp wit and famous for pumping out tunes with an energy that is alarming, bringing a frisky spontaneity to his box-playing.
His repertoire reflects his own place and his style of playing is much influenced by a now gone generation of accordion and fiddle players who came to céilís in his family home.
His style is unique and he is considered by many to be one of the finest players of the dance music of West Kerry and is never happier than when people are dancing to and enjoying his music.
Tim Edey is regarded by many as one of the finest guitarists and multi-instrumentalists around, having played, toured and recorded with most of the biggest names in the Celtic music scene.
Damien O’Kane is earning a growing reputation for being a creative and exciting musician and singer. His banjo playing in particular has led him to being regarded as one of the finest Irish players on the scene today and he’s winning accolades as a singer, focusing on songs from his native Northern Ireland. He is probably best known for his work with Shona Kipling and Flook but has recently been a full-time member of Kate Rusby’s band.
The complementary strength and diversity of Irish music is resoundingly exemplified in this double bill.
