Fiona’s Seven Songs for Amy

Castings are now being held for an Irish feature film, Seven Songs for Amy, written and to be produced by Fanore-based Fiona Graham.
Sonny and Skye productions, co-founded by sisters Fiona Graham and Mairi McLellan, goes into production this summer.  It will be filmed in and around Galway and is a sharp romantic comedy with a love story that spans Ireland and America. With its quick wit, original music and strong feel good factor, it will appeal to both male and female audiences with a broad age range.
Seven Songs for Amy portrays real life Ireland, but in classic Irish style, there is always humour to be found when the chips are down.
Written by Fiona Graham, the film will be directed by Konrad Begg. Konrad’s unique style and creativity in television have earned him several award nominations. Konrad believes the west coast offers the perfect setting for Seven Songs for Amy.
“The west coast of Ireland has always inspired me and it is a special place. I’m incredibly excited about shooting here. This story has a lot of resonance with me and I look forward to bringing it to the screen,” he said.
Sonny and Skye have also recently recruited Graham Cantwell (director of Anton) as co-producer. Graham is confident that this film will have wide appeal on the global market.
“This is a tremendous project that helps boost Ireland’s flair for producing original independent films.  I am looking forward to bringing this exciting film to the international market,” he said.
Patrick Bergin (Patriot Games and Sleeping with the Enemy) will be contributing both his acting and musical talents. Sonny and Skye are in talks with other well-known talent for leading roles and are currently casting.
Actors with musical ability are of particular interest as the film contains original songs by Jim McKee, Patrick Bergin, Ultan Conlon and other strong emerging musicians. For full casting information see www.sonnyandskye.com.
