A festival celebrating the life and music of Miclín Conlon takes place next weekend in one of North Clare’s best-known venues.
The Roadside Tavern in Lisdoonvarna hosts the three-day event from October 22 to 24.
The weekend of music includes performances from Christy Barry, Jack Talty and Colin Nea on Friday night. On Saturday afternoon Peadar O’Reilly and the Howley Sisters play before Tommy Peoples, Bobby Gardiner, Jack Talty, Terry Bingham and Paul Dooley.
On Sunday, Micilín’s nephew Johnny Conlon performs alongside Nicky Power and Eoin O Ceirin. The weekend closes with a gig from Tommy Peoples, Christy Barry and Jack Talty.
Later in the month The Roadside Tavern is also the location for a performance by Yngve Wieland.
Following the success of his solo releases Tell Men This and Have You No Love in 2008 and 2009 the critically acclaimed Irish/German Americana artist performs this Halloween.
Yngve is back with a new band and a debut EP Nothing Was Delivered.
It features an exciting line-up of young but experienced musicians including Yngve’s brother Demian on drums, classically trained Ned Cartwright on keys and new bass player Simon Brown.
The group is playing at The Roadside on Sunday, October 31. Admission is free and doors open at 8pm.
