TV3’s celebrity correspondent, Noel Cunningham, will host the extravaganza on Wednesday, September 28 and all fashions will be modelled by the Holman Lee Model Agency.
Once again, the 2011 line-up of participating boutiques promises style to covet. Proven favourites include the County Boutique, Willow and lifestyle boutique, Juniper. Annette’s Boutique in Clarecastle will also showcase its autumn/winter collection, while fashion retailers Warehouse and Pamela Scott from Limerick will show the audience what is on trend for the new season.
Also hailing from Limerick are Ivory Closet and Katie-Jane’s and Select Boutique travels from Galway to showcase their collections for this season.
Amore Mio brings occasional and bridal fashions from Killaloe and Prégo Menswear in Shannon makes sure there is something for the in-style man. Bringing a new dimension to the show this year is internet shopping sensation The Fashion Shed, a world of boutique shopping at your fingertips.
Award-winning Nenagh designer, Marion Murphy-Cooney, will also take the opportunity to show her unique range of classic tailoring.
Nozomi Shoe Boutique is supplying footwear for the show, while Galway millinery designer, Suzie Mahony, works her magic to bring a riot of colour, beauty and flamboyance to the occasion. The Hair and Beauty Gallery, based in Newmarket-on-Fergus, will display their styles while Bella, The Makeover Studios will show the audience what make-up looks are trending in the autumn/winter season.
In partnership with Stylebible.ie, Bella, the Makeover Studios and Style ’n Mind are offering a makeover to two lucky winners. See www.stylebible.ie or email fashionshowdromoland@ymail.com for more details on how to enter. The results of the makeovers will be revealed at the fashion show.
Fashion at the Castle is organised by the parents’ council of Scoil na Maighdine Mhuire in Newmarket-on-Fergus in support of the school.
School principal, Ann McMahon explained, “Our aim for 2011 is to provide speech and language services directly to our school, effectively reversing the recent HSE cutbacks to frontline speech and language services. We would be one of only a handful of schools in the country with this service. This would impact directly on whole class teaching time and so would be of benefit to each and every one of our 185 pupils. In the final analysis, that’s what we are about. As our motto says, ‘working for the good of all’.”
Jean Maguire, who spearheads the organisation of the show, added, “We are constantly amazed at the generosity of our sponsors, supporters, suppliers and, of course, the people who come to this fashion event year after year. To be able to put on a show like this in a magical venue like Dromoland is a great privilege.
“In addition, we are delighted to introduce a wonderful new male model this year, a face already familiar to many – Nick Munier comes fresh from RTÉ’s Masterchef to model for Scoil na Maighdine Mhuire. We promise there’ll be something there for everyone. We have such a great array of stalls, you could even start your Christmas shopping.”
Tickets for the show are available from the school, by calling 086 8163243, or by getting in touch with any member of the parents council.
“With fabulous prizes, goody bags and complimentary cheese and wine reception, Fashion at the Castle is one style event you do not want to miss,” Jean concluded.
