It was a night of celebration for Kilmaley GAA on Saturday at Magowna House hotel when the Minor A Championship-winning hurlers were presented with their medals by Clare All-Star, Brendan Bugler.
There has been much publicity in recent weeks about the incidents involving some mentors from both sides and some supporters and the subsequent disciplinary action taken.
That has taken somewhat from one of the best Minor A Championships in the history of the competition. All of the teams in the competition contributed to the outstanding hurling and the outcome was in doubt right to the final minute of the final.
Selector Martin Enright introduced the players who received their medals from Whitegate man Bugler. For the majority of the players involved, there were two presentations as the minor B medals from 2011 were also presented.
Bugler congratulated all involved in the win and joined with team captain Conor Cleary in making presentations to the team mentors, Enright, Freddie Markham, Gerry Kennedy and Niall Romer, the team coach.
