Ennistymon savours that winning feeling

ENNISTYMON’S victory in the Minor A Football Championship in 2011 was celebrated at a function in the Falls Hotel on Friday night.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Sam Maguire Cup didn’t arrive in Ennistymon until Saturday when the underage players gathered at the Falls to have their photographs taken with the famed trophy, which also visited Lahinch on Saturday afternoon.
Senior club chairman, Gerry Reidy and minor club chairman, Gerry Murphy both addressed a large gathering at Friday’s function before Paul Casey presented the members of the championship-winning team with their medals.
Presentations were also made to the team mentors Mark Shanahan (manager), Michael Rock, Joe Joe Rouine, David Butler and Declan Rynne.
Club officials made presentations to the special guests Paul Casey and Mick Bohan.
The evening concluded with a social with music provided by Enda Haran.
