Ennistymon CBS 59 St Clements Limerick 19

CBS Ennistymon had a very convincing win over St Clement’s, Limerick in the U-19B Schools Basketball Cup last week.
This was a big challenge for the North Clare school, which has gone up a level to the B league after winning the C cup last year.
From the buzzer, the Clare team showed great speed and determination and were well in control of the game at half-time. Some tremendous outside shooting from Ryan O’Halloran and Michael Leigh and the fast-breaking Tom Kinch was too much for the Limerick side and Ennistymon ran out easy winners.
They now play Coláiste Iognaid, Galway next week and are hoping to have Irish International Ciaran Devitt back on the team after an ankle injury.

Ennistymon CBS 34 St Josephs Bish (Galway) 31

CBS Ennistymon played Bish (Galway) in the U-16B Schools League at the Ennistymon Community Centre. The teams got off to a nervous start, with both sides missing easy lay-ups but Ennistymon led the first quarter 10-8.
From an early stage, it was very obvious this game was going to go down to the wire and but for some outstanding rebounding from Martin Rynne and Dean Fitzgerald, the local side were in trouble.
The Bish pressed hard in the last quarter but when point-guard Shane Doyle hit two three-pointers, it was just enough for Ennistymon CBS boys to clinch victory.
