Ennistymon bridge 16-year gap

Last won in 1997, a 16-year gap was bridged for Ennistymon CBS when they recorded a comprehensive victory in the Clare Colleges Senior Football Championship final played in Gurteen on Thursday.

Ennistymon were off the mark early on with a Barry Keating free. Some lovely approach play by Ennistymon CBS ended with a wonderful point by Micheál Duffy coming in off the right wing.

A tight first half ended with Ennistymon ahead by four points with the score at 0-7 to 0-3.

The second half opened with a brace of Ennistymon goals including a wonderful finish from Keelan Sexton after some very good link up play. Further goals from Barry Keating and Micheál Duffy ensured a victory for Ennistymon CBS.
