Ennis win narrowly in badminton final

There was a high standard of play at the county badminton finals last Saturday.
With cumulative scores counting, Ennis emerged as narrow winners from Broadford with An Droichead in third spot followed by Clonlara. Ennis had 34 sets with Broadford scoring 32 sets and An Droichead on 29 sets.
The members of the Ennis team that will now go forward to represent Clare in the Munster finals at the end of March, are Cian and Cathal Ruane, Eoin Flynn, OJ Keehan, Darren Meehan, Amy McNamara, Emma Kavanagh, Amy McNamara, Sophie Marren, Ann Ryan and Karen McNamara.
Broadford were in second place. Their team included Darren Marsh-Chaplin, Matthew Troy, Jack Dillon, Christopher McInerney, Dermot O’Brien, Aoife Dillon, Alice O’Grady, Siobhan O’Connell, Catherine Donnellan and Nicola Shanahan.
An Droichead won the bronze medal. Their panel included Michael O’Shea, Declan Power, Oisin Moloney, Eddie Burke, Moya Ryan, Keeley Power and Nicola Kelly.
