Ennis Native Named In Kenny’s Republic of Ireland U-21 Squad For Euro Qualifier

Clare’s Barry Cotter has been named in Stephen Kenny’s Republic of Ireland U-21 squad for the upcoming European Championships qualifier against Luxembourg.

The Ennis native is currently plying his trade with Ipswich having made the switch from Limerick FC during Mick McCarthy’s tenure at Portman Road in January 2018.

The former Avenue and Ennis Town defender made his debut against Barnsley in April of last year, in a game that would prove to be McCarthy’s last in charge of the club.

Ireland will face Luxembourg at Tallaght Stadium on Sunday March 24 with a 5pm kick-off.

The finals of the tournament are set to take place in Hungary and Slovakia in June 2021.
