Ennis maintain recent good form

Ennis  23
Carrick-on Suir  0

Ennis started well against a disjointed looking Carrick-on-Suir side and Davy Murphy converted penalties in the 12th and 18th minutes to push his side into a 6-0 lead.

They failed to maintain the same drive for the remainder of half at the end of which the score was still 6-0.
In the second half, Ennis were dominant with very impressive work in the set piece scrums and lineouts. The scrum pushed over for a try on 50mins with Damien Forde getting the last touch.
They followed with a superb breakaway try from wing-forward Bryan Dolan on 65 minutes.
Dolan again crossed the line on 74, which was converted, but try as they did they couldn’t get in for the bonus point fourth try.
It was a very pleasing performance from Ennis with a squad that’s playing better every week.
Their next league game will be at home to Dungarvan on Sunday week, December 23.
On St Stephen’s Day Ennis will travel to Annacotty to play UL/Bohs in the annual O’Loughlin Cup tie.

Another Division 3 win for Scariff

Scariff 13

Scariff maintained their unbeaten home record in Division 3 of the Munster Junior League with a hard won victory in Scariff last Sunday.
After playing with the aid of the wind, the Kerry Gaeltacht side were 3-0 up at half-time after a penalty by Kevin Moriarty.

Scariff at this stage had most of the possession and, after a few near misses, Conor Minogue picked from the base of a ruck five meters out and drove over for the first try of the game. The Kerry side never gave up and were rewarded with a try by Ciarán Slattery to send them home with a losing bonus point.
