Ennis boxer joins US pro ranks

FORMER Ennis boxer Cian Dalton is presently enjoying some success on the professional scene in the US.
The light heavyweight has had two fights, both of which he won, with one ending with a KO.
As a member of the Ennis club, he competed in county, provincial and national competition, enjoying some success at county and provincial levels.

His next fight will be in Pittsburg on August 3. He has developed quite a fan base of Irish and Irish Americans in the Pittsburg region, many of whom travel to his fights.

In his debut, Cian fought Toledo Ohio’s Rock Presley. Presley was also making his pro debut that night.
Presley was 6’3 but despite the height advantage, Cian’s body attack wore him down and the Ennis man got the TKO victory.

In his second fight, he fought Detroit’s Delvery Wofford. Wofford was a veteran of six pro fights but Cian knocked him to the canvas with a big right hook in the fourth round to seal the victory. On August 3, he is due to fight Akron Ohio’s light heavyweight Gavin Hume, who is a southpaw.

This week, Cian is in the boxing rich town of Youngstown, Ohio to spar some tough pro veterans, one of which is 66-fight pro veteran Zack Page. Page is noted for his upset win over Irish heavyweight Kevin McBride.
