Last season the club’s adult hurling team won the intermediate championship, winning back senior status after three years. Flynn is a former team mentor and trainer and, over the years, has filled many positions in the club.
On the night, the club honoured Kevin Moynihan and Ronan Keane who helped Clare to All-Ireland intermediate honours and Gerry O’Connor (joint-manager) and Shane O’Donnell who helped Clare to retain the Munster minor title. Tadhg McNamara was presented with the hurler of the year award.
County board chairman Michael O’Neill complimented the club on its achievements during 2011. Team captain Mark Fitzgerald spoke on behalf of the players while Michael Chandler spoke on behalf of management.
Chairman Pat Daly paid tribute to all players and mentors and expressed the wish that 2012 will be another successful one for the club.
