Éire Óg and Kilkee lead the way

After two rounds in the Garry Cup (Division 2 football), Éire Óg and St Senan’s Kilkee have maximum points. On Sunday last they defeated Kildysart and Cooraclare respectively.

St Senan’s Kilkee turned in a strong second-half performance to claim the points in this Garry Cup tie at the seasiders’ venue on Sunday.
The teams were level at 1-3 for the home side to 0-6 at half-time, the Kilkee goal coming from Michael O’Shea.
In the second half, Gearóid Lynch got through for a goal and this put them on the road to the points.

Éire Óg were always in control in this tie, played at their Clonroadmore grounds. Two first-half goals from Eoin Glynn, one from the penalty spot, gave them the upper hand, which they retained throughout.

Two goals early in the second half turned this game in Wolfe Tones’ favour at Lissycasey on Sunday.
At half-time the home side held a four-point advantage. Shortly after the resumption the visitors were awarded a penalty, which Gary Leahy converted. Shortly after this Daniel Gallery raced through to score their second goal. The winners dominated the second half and collect their first points of the campaign.

O’Curry’s 0-10 Ennistymon 0-8

O’Curry’s came out on top in a tight contest at Lahinch on Sunday despite failing to convert two penalties, both of which were saved.
The West Clare men led four points to three at half-time and while Ennistymon rallied to take the lead after the break, the visitors finished strongly to take the spoils. On the day, they had points from Ger Quinlan, Derek Troy, Jack Scanlon, Michael Foran and Michael Carmody.
