Draws to be made this weekend

The draws for the concluding stages of the senior hurling championship (A and B) and the pairings for the relegation play-offs will be made this weekend after the remaining games in Round 5 have been played.
Quarter-final games will take place on Saturday and Sunday week.
Six of the qualifiers in the race for the Canon Hamilton Trophy are already known and this weekend’s games will confirm the remaining two as well as finalising placings within the groups.
There are still three teams chasing the two quarter final positions from Group 1. Clarecastle, Clooney-Quin and Kilmaley are the ones in contention with Kilmaley’s fate dependant on the result of the meeting of Clarecastle and Clooney-Quin this Saturday.
Sixmilebridge and Cratloe have qualified from Group 2 but final positions have to be determined. Sixmilebridge currently hold top spot and they will have to be beaten well if they are to be moved from there.
Newmarket are top of group three with O’Callaghan’s Mills in second spot while Clonlara top Group 4 with Crusheen as runners-up.
Scariff and either Kilmaley, Clooney-Quin or Clarecastle will go into the draw from Group 1 for the senior B title. Two from Wolfe Tones, Tubber and Inagh-Kilnamona will go into the B draw from Group 2 with whoever loses out going into the relegation play-off.
It is a similar situation in group three where the teams involved are Smith O’Brien’s, Tulla and Whitegate.
St Joseph’s will definitely be in the B championship draw from Group 4 and they will be joined by the winners of this weekend’s clash between Corofin and Ballyea with the losers of that game going into the relegation battle.
The junior A championship pairings will also be determined this weekend. Three teams are still in the hunt for the two semi-final spots from Group 1. St Joseph’s, Inagh-Kilnamona and O’Callaghan’s Mills may have to depend on score difference to decide positioning. Newmarket and Crusheen have qualified from Group 2 and the result of their meeting this week will determine first and second place. In the semi-finals, the winners of Group 1 will play the runners-up in Group 2 with the top team in Group 2 playing the second team in Group 1.
