THE draws for the Munster Community Games finals were made last week. The finals will take place on Saturday, July 9 in the University of Limerick and will be hosted by the Limerick committee this year.
The draws are as follows:
Basketball: U-11: Kerry v Cork with winners to play Tipperary; Clare v Limerick; boys U-13: Cork v Limerick with winners to play Tipperary; Clare v Kerry; girls U-13: Clare v Tipperary with winners to play Kerry; Cork v Limerick; boys U-16: Kerry v Limerick with winners to play Tipperary; Cork v Clare; girls U-16: Cork v Clare with winners to play Limerick; Kerry v Tipperary.

Clare finals
THE Golden Vale Clare soccer finals were held in Lees Road last week and while entries were disappointing, the standard of play was high.
In the boys’ final, Ennis St John’s played Sixmilebridge-Kilmurry with Ennis recording a narrow win. In fact, Ennis St John’s won all three finals, the boys U-12 and the girls U-12 and U-15 grades.
The members of the victorious girls’ U-12 team are Aisling Kenneally, Chloe Garland, Alma Conway, Amy Horgan, Niamh Kelly, Ciara O’Brien, Ivana Pyne, Tara McInerney, Nadia Buczek, Elise Pyne, Sinéad Conway, Chloe Barry, Erin Hehir, Rene Shannon, Khaduat Olabul and Tracey Ubwuaru.
The runners-up were Sixmilebridge-Kilmurry, whose team members are Ruth O’Neill, Róisín McMahon, Zoe, Sarah and Charlotte Merriman, Megan Cusack, Aoife Fitzpatrick, Ciara Halpin, Brianna Kelly and Katelyn Harrington.
In the girls’ U-15 grade, the Ennis team members are Sarah Cullinan, Aoife Glavin, Laura Brown, Niamh O’Brien, Orla Waters, Fridaous Karimu, Aoife McNamara, Rebecca Windall, Marese Hayes, Katie Kenneally, Aimee Hayes, Sarah Jane O’Connell, Sinéad Mulcahy, Serena Moloney, Bebhinn Sullivan and Emma Kavanagh.
The runners-up Sixmilebridge-Kilmurry team comprised Orla and Niamh Carroll, Niamh Hassett, Sarah O’Neill, Sarah and Laura Collins, Rachel Kelly. Hayley Brooks, Sarah Loughnane and Alisha Ryan.
The winning Ennis St John’s boys’ U-12 team comprises Jack Connolly, Frank Roche, Jesse Onejekwe, Darren O’Brien, Nathan Hannick, Kevin O’Connor, Josh Costin, Conor McDaid, Philip Talty, Robbie Woods, Ronan Langan, Fionn Nolan, Rory Brennan, Sam Ogundare and Stephen Kennedy.
Sixmilebridge-Kilmurry were also the runners-up and their team members are Paul Corry, Jake Dineen, Kane Whyte, James Deegan, Niall Donlon, Eoin Cooney, Adam Merriman, Mark O’Neill, Christopher Carey, Eric Purcell, Kieran McDermott, Brandon O’Halloran, Jamin Hoffmann, Jamie Madigan and Jordan Downes.
The bronze medal winners were Kilrush, who include Joseph Miniter, David Casey, Eoin O’Mara, Gavin Kelly, Billy Clancy, Stephen Ryan, Ross Phelan, Luke Clancy, Danny Clancy, Stephen Nolan and Dylan Downes.
In fourth place were Ballynacally-Lissycasey with Joe Conlon, Morgan Garry, David Kelly, Conor Clohessy, Aaron Griffin, Cian Meaney, Shane McMahon, Conor Keane, Luke Clohessy, Liam Crowe, Cormac Reidy, Joss Allard, Sean Culligan, Daniel Kelly and Martin Clonlo.
Pitch and putt
Doora-Barefield won the boys’ pitch and putt competition at the Clare Road on Saturday with a team comprising Colm Devine, Niall Keane, Cathal Clune, Danny Mungovan and Sean Myatt.
They scored 164 points to beat Quin-Clooney (Michael Corry, Conor Grogan, Sean Hehir, Michael Culligan and Ruadhan Dunne) on 195 points.
In third spot with 205 were Kilkishen-O’Callaghan’s Mills-Oatfield with Cathal Nolan, Jacob Loughjnane, John O’Brien, Sean Donnellan and Sean Cotter. Sixmilebridge-Kilmurry were fourth and their team comprised Kevin Kelly, Conor Cahill, Dean Costelloe and Tadhg Donnellan.
Ennis St John’s A won the girls’ competition with Hannah Bredin, Aisling Maher, Rachel Coote, Emma Neylon and Elana Bradley. Quin-Clooney came second with Anna Corry, Lauren McConway, Hannah O’Brien and Aoibheann Duggan. In third spot were Ennis St John’s B with Kelly Fitzgerald, Cara Finnerty, Shannon Hegarty, Emma Duffy and Caitlin Fitzgerald.
Broadford-Kilbane-Kilmore were fourth and their team comprised Aoife Dillon, Cliona O’Brien, Lorraine Keniry and Alice O’Grady.
The winners of both the boys and girls competitions, Doora-Barefield and Ennis St John’s, are through to the national finals in Athlone in August.
