WALTER O’Brien was the singles winner at Lahinch last Thursday and Saturday.
On Thursday, O’Brien (12) scored 37 points on the Championship Course to win from John G Casey (14), who had a similar score. The winner of the ladies’ competition was Jenny Cagney (15) with a similar score.
O’Brien was also the winner of the singles competition on Saturday, when he scored 35 points.
Woodstock
WOODSTOCK hosted a three-person scramble over 15 holes on St Stephen’s Day when the winners were Michael Hayes (10), John Dempsey (11) and Eugene Killeen (16).
In the club singles the previous weekend, Frank Tone (18) was the winner with 42 points over 16 holes.
The New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day modified team-of-four competition was won by John O’Connor (12), Frank Doherty (11), Martin Dormer (17) and Liam McInerney (14) with 113 points.
The winner of the club singles at the weekend was Brendan Arthur (19) with 43 points.
Gort
LAST week’s singles competition at Gort was won by John Dempsey (15) with 42 points from James Mulqueen (12) with 40 points. The gross was won by John Greer (5) with 33 points.
Pitch and putt
AT the annual general meeting of the Clare Road Pitch and Putt Club, the following officers were elected: captain, PJ Considine; chairman, Denis McElligott; secretary, Kevin Woods; treasurer, Michael Kerin; competition secretary and PRO, Noel Cuddihy and registrar, Gabriel Kerin.
The winner of Sunday’s strokeplay competition was Paddy Sheedy from Denis McElligott, with Marty Fawl winning the gross.
