The deadline has been extended for the Recorded Artists Actors and Performers (RAAP) organisation and RTÉ Radio for submissions to the RAAP | RTÉ Radio Breakthrough Bursary 2012.
Those looking to apply must now get their applications in by 4pm on Thursday. Now in its second year, the bursary offers €24,500 in bursary prize money to the winners, along with guaranteed air play on prime time radio across RTÉ’s four national FM stations Radio 1, 2FM, Lyric FM and Raidió na Gaeltachta.
The RAAP | RTÉ Radio Breakthrough Bursary competition is divided into four categories, which aim to encompass all musical genres and ensure musicians of every discipline are in with a chance of winning. The winners of each category will receive a €5,000 bursary to go towards furthering their musical career. Nine runner-up prizes of €500 will also be awarded.
Entries can be submitted at www.rte.ie/breakthrough. A shortlist of each category will be released on Thursday, September 13, with the ultimate winners being announced at a special gala concert on Thursday, September 20.
