Dalcash dog among qualifiers

Dalcash Skywise (Skywalker Ace-Dalcash Divinsky) owned by Miltown Malbay native Fr Jack Meade, Rockwell College, is still in the hunt for honours in the GMHD Juvenile Classic at the Tralee Greyhound Racing Stadium.
He finished third in his opening-round heat on Friday night.

Drawn in trap one, Dalcash Skywise led into the back but was challenged by Hey Big Spender, in trap six. In the race for the line the Pallasgreen-owned Pleasant Moments (Head Bound-What a Diva) came flying up on the inside and in the exciting finish snatched the race by half a length in 28.86 from Hey Big Spender. Dalcash Skywise was beaten a neck into third place.

The Meade family will also be watching the progress of Skywalker Jet (Skywalker Ace-Dalcash Divinsy. Dalcash Divinsky won the Oak for Fr Jack Meade.

The Owen McKenna-trained and Derry-owned Farlow Calvin (Hondo Black-Me Margaret) won the concluding heat with a brilliant 28.39 run.

Trap draw for the semi-finals on Friday night is: heat one, 1 Farloe Calvin, 2 South Armagh, 3 Detar, 4 Skywalker Jet, 5, Coolvanny Angie, 6 Pleasant Moments; heat two, 1 Ille Desire, 2 Deerfield Lloyd, 3 Ballymac Jordan, 4 Hey Big Spender, 5 Conna Kingsmill, 6 Farloe Trent; heat three, Ille Probe, 2 Holycross Gerry, 3 Dalcash Skywise, 4 Mileheight Alba, 5 Broadstand Xola, 6 Willow Man.
