A DIVERSE and creative range of activities and events have been lined up to help entertain children of all ages and talents in Glór this summer.
From early July, the very successful and popular Kindermusik sessions for children from three to five years will be held and are already heavily booked with facilitator Fiona Driscoll.
This will be the sixth summer of the Kindermusik programme and parents and children alike have found the workshops both playful and fun, as they are designed to offer new experiences, through the medium of music and movement, and lots of opportunities for participation.
Ballet Ireland is also coming back to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Ballet Ireland summer school, from July 12 to 16. Since 2001, almost 3,000 boys and girls have taken part in the summer school, a week filled to the brim with creativity and self-expression, workshops centred in dance and a performance held onstage.
This year’s summer school will take its inspiration from the story of The Emperor and the Nightingale.
Clare Youth Theatre is also returning to Glór with its summer theatre camp, led by Eleanor Feely. Let Me …. Act! will run from June 28. Early booking is advisable.
From July 5, Krystyna Pomeroy will lead students aged over 10 in a puppet-making workshop. The week-long course is an introduction to the world of puppets.
It includes a look at world traditions with some performance but mainly focussing on creating puppets.
The week of July 12 will see the TinaMation Children’s Creative Art Camp and TinaMation Digital Creative Computer Course being held in Glór. This creative art workshop, suitable for ages six to 12 years, will include puppeteering, painting, mask-making, claymation and other activities.
The digital creative computer course will introduce participants to creating and animating on computers and graphic drawing tablets.
In July, a little bit of Glee comes to Clare, with the Glee Summer Camp with Suzanne Kenny. The summer camp will use hits songs from various decades and will give them the Glee treatment. Students will learn a selection of songs, with performance and prepare for an end of camp concert.
The Hannah Montana and High School Musical Tribute Show on July 3 is also sure to be a big hit with fans of the two shows.
