Corofin Harps are back on top of the first division following their 3-2 win over Avenue United B on Sunday. Bridge United A, 6-2 winners over Newmarket B, are just a point behind and they have a game in hand and it would appear that the title rests between these two.
Avenue are battling to get away from the foot of the table and they took the lead through Sean Corry. Corofin hit back and Stephen Keane struck twice to put them ahead before Corry struck again to level matters.
The winning goal came from Michael Concannon for a Corofin Harps side that will turn their attention to cup fare this week as they face Mountshannon Celtic in the semi-final.
Bridge United made the short journey to Newmarket and went home with the points after a good win. However, things didn’t look good in the early stages as the home side raced into a two-goal lead thanks to Martin O’Neill and Ciarán McCoy.
The visitors stepped up the pace and were level at 2-2 when the half-time whistle sounded before dominating the second half. John Keogh was in great form and he batted four goals with Kieran Quinlan and Trevor Maxwell getting the remaining two.
Moher Celtic’s chances of promotion took a blow when they were held to a 2-2 draw by Bunratty-Cratloe. Killian Malone and Paul Cagney scored for the North Clare side.
This is how the table looks at this stage of the campaign.
