Coole move towards third division title

Cooraclare Celtic 3 Coole FC 5

THIRD-division leaders Coole FC took a giant step towards the title when they travelled to and beat second-placed Cooraclare Celtic on Sunday.
Coole scored first through Kyle McCarthy and led 1-0 at half-time. Cooraclare levelled through Stephen Sweeney early in the second half. Coole went back in front soon after this through Colm Grealish but Cooraclare levelled again, this time through Ruairi O’Connor.
Coole took the lead again through Kyle McCarthy and they added two more, both from the penalty spot by McCarthy to bring his tally to four. Cooraclare concluded the scoring when Gerard O’Brien converted a penalty.

Tulla United B 0 Rineanna Rovers B 4

RINEANNA Rovers B had a comfortable win over Tulla United B at the Cragg on Sunday. An Enda Barrett goal helped them to a 1-0 lead at half-time.
In the second half, Barrett added two more to complete a hat trick. while the fourth goal came from Thiago. The winners played most of the second half with 10 men after Ronan McCormack was sent off.

Treaty Celtic 2 Shannon Olympic B 0

TREATY Celtic earned a comfortable 2-0 victory over Shannon Olympic B in their third division tie on Sunday. Treaty Celtic had the better of the opening period and were rewarded with a headed goal from Noel Nash following a corner kick.
Treaty continued to apply presssure and were awarded a penalty soon after which was dispatched with ease by Martin McCarthy to make the score 2-0 at the break. Treaty Celtic always looked comfortable in the second half as Olympic B failed to exert any period of pressure.

MANUS Celtic B proved too strong for Hermitage C on Sunday when goals from Bernard Scanlon in the opening minutes and Aaron Considine in the second half sealed victory for the Clarecastle side.

HERMITAGE B made the journey to O’Briensbridge on Sunday and returned with the points thanks to a 3-1 win. They took an early lead but Wesley Fleming levelled for the home side and the half-time score was 1-1. The visitors had the better of the second half and scored twice to secure the points. Scorers for the ’Tage were Cathal Keane, Brian McMahon and Damian Hand.

St Pat’s 2 West Clare United 1

ST Pat’s came out on top in the West Clare derby clash at Kilmihil on Sunday. West Clare took the lead through Tony Doherty in the first half but the home side were in front by half-time following goals from Brendan McNamara and Derek O’Connell.
