Concert at the castle

Car Tourismo Banner

The walls of Craggaunowen Castle in Quin will resound to the classical strings of the violin, cello and guitar on May 11 when trio Elatha bring together elements of folk and classical music.

The trio is made up of fiddler Zoë Conway, guitar player Brendan Walsh and cellist Ailbhe McDonagh. All of the musicians have played solo with orchestras, are competition winners and have played at prestigious venues across the globe. Their diverse influences heavily affect their music programming. They perform a varied classical repertoire incorporating their own folk arrangements and compositions.
Those attending the event will gather on the ground floor of the castle which has two vaulted chambers, light refreshments will be served along with live music in the first of these chambers, while the second chamber with a high vaulted ceiling is the venue for the seated classical concert.
Seats are limited to 50 so this is a rare opportunity to get a taste of a night of musical heritage.
The castle will open for the concert at 8.30pm with a wine reception ahead of the main event, which will start at 9pm. Tickets are available for booking by contacting Brendan at 086 8464509.
