Competitors set for world championships


Starting this Thursday, the World Handball Championships will take place in Ireland over the next 10 days at the City West Hotel, Dublin, the championships and will continue until October 21, with 1,850 entries.

Clare has 55 competitors in the championship in the one-wall competition and the 40 x 20 singles and doubles.

It is expected there will be over 3,000 matches played over the 10 days, with many Clare competitors hoping to bring home a title.

The following is a list of the entrants, including adults and juveniles, who are taking part. In total, there are 55 participants, with 23 adult men and three adult women; six underage girls and 22 underage boys.
