Community Games finals take off

Photograph by John KellyTHE Golden Vale county community games hurling and futsal finals will take place this weekend while a number of areas across the county will hold their athletics finals as the deadline nears by which all finals must be completed ahead of the county finals.

Hurling
ST Flannan’s College is the venue for the community games hurling competition on Saturday and the pairings are: A – Clarecastle/Ballyea v Inch/Kilmaley/Connolly; B – Doora Barefield V Ennis; C – Shannon V Sixmilebridge; D – Derg V Newmarket. Semi-finals: A v B; C v D.

Futsal
COROFIN is the venue for the boys and girls futsal competition on Saturday.
In the girls’ competition, the semi-final pairings are Ennis v Sixmilebridge B at 10.30am and Sixmilebridge A v Cratloe at 11am. the losing semi-fialists will play-off at 11.30am with the semi-final winners meeting in the final at 12 noon.
In the boys’ competition, Sixmilebridge-Kilmurry will play Inch-Connolly-Kilmaley B at 1pm, while the Inch-Connolly-Kilmaley A team will play Ennis at 1.30pm.
The losers of the semi-finals will play in the third and fourth place play-off at 2pm with the semi-final winners meeting in the final at 2.45pm.

Sixmilebridge-Kilmurry
Sixmilebridge-Kilmurry community games athletic finals were held at O’Garney Park in Sixmilebridge last week and there was a big turnout.
The first and second placed athletes will go on to represent the area in the county finals on June 27 at Lees Road.

THE Ennis St John’s Community Games area athletic finals were held on Monday and Tuesday evenings at Lees Road viewed by a large attendance.
The standard was very good and the children are now looking forward to the County Finals at the end of June.
