Comfortable four-goal win for Bridge Celtic

BRIDGE Celtic were comfortable winners over Turnpike Rovers in their tie at Bridgetown on Sunday.
After a scoreless first half, the home side struck early on the resumption and a brace from Willie Neary put them in the driving seat. Alan Conway hit another brace before the end of the game.

MANUS took the lead when Simon McDonagh scored from the penalty spot. Andrew Page and John Molloy came close to adding to this lead, while Mike McDonagh saw his effort hit the post before half-time.
Manus created a number of chances in the second half when they hit the post twice. Avenue’s equaliser came five minutes from the end when Mick Shields’ header deflected off a defender and ended up in the net.
The game was held up for 15 minutes in the first quarter after Avenue’s Joe McNamara picked up a serious leg injury.
Avenue played the final 15 minutes with 10 men after David Considine had to retire due to injury and the team had used their quote of substitutes at the time.

BUNRATTY-Cratloe took the lead after five minutes when Ally McMillan headed to the net following a Damian Browne free.
Four minutes from the end they sealed victory with a goal from Barry Gleeson.

RHINE Rovers have moved to the top of the First Division League following a win over Bridge United A on Sunday.
Johnnie O’Brien was on target from the penalty spot to fire Rhine into the lead and they doubled their advantage when Cathal O’Sullivan was on target shortly afterwards.
Jonathon Downes pulled one back for Bridge United when he converted a penalty late in the game.
