Colleges title for Mary Immaculate

Mary Immaculate, Lisdoonvarna 0-14   Kilrush CS 1-5

Mary Immaculate Secondary School, Lisdoonvarna won the Clare colleges senior schools cup last Friday in Quilty when they overcame a determined Kilrush Community College outfit.

Playing with the aid of the breeze in the first half, it was Kilrush who started the brighter and converted a penalty early on. Scores were hard to come by in a tight first half at the end of which the winners had one point to spare, 0-5 to 1-1

The game turned on a crucial save at the start of the second half, where Kilrush were denied a certain goal by a great stop.

The Lisdoonvarna outfit showed more composure in front of goal thereafter and kicked the scores late on to seal a great win for the school, their first time winning this title since 2008.
