Clondegad 0-13  Corofin 1-7

CLONDEGAD moved a step closer to a second adult championship in 2011 when they qualified for the Junior B final and a date with Clonlara by beating Corofin in this semi-final replay at Miltown on Sunday.
Extra time was needed to separate the sides with Clondegad coming through by three points after the teams had been level on six occasions.
Corofin got off to a dream start with veteran Colm Clancy goaling in the third minute. Clondegad fought their way back and points from Charlie McCarthy, Colm Quinlivan and Barry Coffey had the sides level by the 22nd minute. Dermot Gavin then put the winners in front but a Colm Clancy effort levelled with two minutes to play in the half.
Clondegad substitute Declan Keane put his side in front but Clancy again replied leaving the sides level at 0-5 to 1-2 when the half-time whistle sounded.
Full-forward Quinlivan put Clondegad back in front at the start of the second half but Clancy again levelled and the North Clare outfit then went on to open a three-point lead by the end of the third quarter.
At this stage, Clondegad introduced Shane O’Neill and Mark Quinn and both helped bring about a big improvement.
A Quinlivan point cut the margin to two before Ray Flannery left just one between the sides as full-time approached. Quinlivan grabbed the equaliser from a free to send the tie into extra time. Corofin went back in front when Gearóid Kelly pointed but they were level again by the mid point in extra time after Ray Flannery hit his second point.
In the second period, Clondegad held the upperhand and points from Colm Quinlivan, David Sheehan and Rory Longe sealed victory and a place in the decider.
Shortly before the finish, Corofin were reduced to 14 men when Brian Halpin picked up a second yellow card which led to his dismissal.
The final between Clondegad and Clonlara is set for Saturday week.
