Clare Sinn Fein TD Issues Apology After Facebook Comments Controversy

Clare’s Sinn Fein TD has apologised for any offence caused by comments she made online on Friday.

The 2020 Election poll topper engaged with a number of posters to an article on the Clare FM Facebook page, in which she had urged the HSE to disclose a breakdown of the Covid-19 testing numbers.

Responding to a large amount of comments on the piece, Ms Wynne was highly critical of fellow election candidates and outgoing TD’s Pat Breen and Timmy Dooley, who she referred to as “Prat Breen” and “Timmy Do Nothing”.

She also accused those who were critical of her as being moaners.

A post on her own Facebook page today reads:

“I understand that a number of remarks I made on Facebook recently have caused offence. I want to apologise for this and to those involved”
