Clare scenery a feature of Inis Artists exhibition


THE first art exhibition of this year in the Glór Gallery is by local artist group, Inis Artists. The diverse exhibition, which mainly features landscapes and Clare scenery, opened to the public last Saturday and so far has been well received.

There are 36 works in the exhibition and the paintings include seascapes, landscapes and pen and ink drawings. Some of the well-known local artists exhibiting with the Inis Artists in Glór until the end of the month are Tomás Ó Maoldomhniagh, Alan Shoosmith, Sonia Scchorman, Sheila Hanrahan, Maureen McMahon, Margaret Ray, Dick Burke, Geraldine O’Leary, Alice McGee, Marilyn Cole, Maureen  McMahon and Noel Ruane.
Inis Artists comprises both professional and highly talented amateur artists, who are all based in Clare. The society was formed to promote visual art not only in Clare but in the province of Munster and to this end, they have exhibited widely in many countries. Membership of the Inis Artists is limited to 15 members and when a vacancy occurs within the group, admission to the society is by selection.
