Clare players represent Munster

THE badminton Ireland U-13, U-15 and U-17 inter-provincials were held last weekend in Dublin. Clare had 10 players playing for Munster at U-17 (Ciara Dwyer, Megan Bredin and Amy MacNamara), U-15 (Moya Ryan, Karen MacNamara, Áine Ryan and Lana Browne) and at U-13 (Alexandra Troy, Katie Browne, all from Ennis and Aisling O’Meara Killaloe).

All the Munster teams performed excellently with both the U-13 and U-15 teams only a couple of games from winning. Moya Ryan (Ennis) has been selected on the Irish U-15 team for the second time. Moya won the Irish U-15 singles and mixed titles recently in Lisburn.

The Irish team will play in this year’s Quadrangular in Dublin in May, which will see the best players from England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland compete in both a team and individual event. This is a great opportunity for Moya to impress against some of the best players in the UK who are breaking through on the European stage. The Irish U-15 Management team is Al Bredin (Ennis) and Naomi Darragh.
