Clare and Antrim share spoils

Clare 1-23   Antrim 3-17

A Clare senior hurling selection played a draw with Antrim at Raheen in Laois on Sunday last.

Only two of the starting fifteen had played in the relegation play off against Cork as the Banner team’s management opted for players that had seen little action during the recent league campaign.

Using the same squad, Clare travelled to Portumna last evening to play an Offaly selection managed by former Clare midfielder Ollie Baker.

Further games are planned in the coming weeks against Dublin and Galway as Clare continue their preparations for their Munster championship first round clash with Waterford on June 2.

The team which lined out against Antrim was: Donal Tuohy; Paul Flanagan, Cillian Duggan, Conor Cooney; Liam Markham, Patrick Kelly (Clarecastle), Stephen O’Halloran; Sean Collins, Nicky O’Connell; Peter  Duggan, Cathal O’Connell, Mark Flaherty; Jonathon Clancy, Alan O’Neill, Cathal McInerney. Subs: Cathal Malone, Brian O’Connell, Davy O’Halloran and Conor McGrath.
