Champions still on course to retain title

Premier league title-holders Newmarket Celtic A are still unbeaten in this season’s competition.
Ennis Town rock took the lead after 20 minutes through David Reidy and they held this advantage to half time.
Ten minutes into the second half the home side equalised through Enda Kelly.
On the day a draw was a fair result.

The sides were level at 1-1 at the half way stage in this premier league tie on Sunday.
Ritchie Fitzgerald put his side in front after half an hour but Olympic drew level before the break through Ray Quigley.
In the second half goals from Ger Dullaghan and Robert Dunne ensured victory for the Ennis side.

Mountshannon Celtic 1 Tulla United A 4

Tulla United A travelled to Scariff and scored a comfortable win over their East Clare neighbours Mountshannon Celtic.
Tulla took the lead after 25 minutes, Alan Brigdale made a good run down the left and passed to Sunny Jay who crossed for David McInerney to score. This goal separated the teams at half time.
Ten minutes into the second half they doubled their advantage when Noel Collins’ corner ended up in the net after taking a deflection off the home side’s goalkeeper.
Mountshannon pulled one back midway through the half when Keith Finnerty scored.
Tulla regained their two-goal advantage following another corner from Collins which Niall Whelan headed to the net via the post.
The winner’s fourth goal came after a quick free from Denis Murphy was parried. The rebound fell to Donal Doherty whose effort was cleared off line but Aidan Fawl followed up and scored.

Avenue United A maintained their challenge to Newmarket for the premier title with this comfortable win over Lifford A on Friday evening.
The winners led through a Mikey Mahoney goal at the break after he latched on to a David Herlihy cross.
In the second half David McCarthy scored from the penalty spot after Mahoney was fouled. Simon Cuddy scored their third before a David Smith free kick completed the scoring.
