Self-taught artist launches painting DVD

By John Rainsford AN artist, represented by Kenny’s Gallery, in Lahinch, has produced a unique DVD offering instruction to budding artists in the Mid-West. Annemarie Bourke who runs the Studio Basement at 98 O’Connell Street in Limerick explains, “The idea came originally from a final-year project at Limerick Institute of Technology. Entitled Watercolour for Beginners, the resulting DVD covers all the basic techniques you need to begin painting in watercolour. “For example, how to make beautiful washes, how to get the most out of your brush and how to create painterly brush marks. The next part is a demonstration of a cottage in Tipperary and the viewer is invited to paint along as I complete the painting.” From Parteen, Annemarie began her professional career in 1990 but has exhibited widely in both Ireland and France since.
